Well, have you seen any. :) I think they're great. Peter Jackson is a genius:guzzle: , he's hilarious:jester: and isn't scared of a little blood :fanboy: . His movies are Bad taste, Braindead (also known as Dead/Alive in the US), Meet the feebles, The frighteners, Forgotten silver, Heavenly creatures and duh LOTR

I enjoyed watching "Heavenly Creatures" alot, which is also one of my favorite films. Personally, I think it's one of P.J.s' best movies...aside from LOTR of course. "Forgotten Silver" is another excellent film.
However, I never liked Peter's earlier horror films. Their content was just a little too strange to watch.
I liked "The Frighteners" and "Meet the Feebles" okay, :) but "Bad Taste" and "Dead Alive" were very, very weird. :elfeek:
Although, yes! He is a genius! lol

I saw Heavenly Creatures and loved it. It was so unique. And I bet all young people can relate to that angst between teens and parents.

What do you mean 'what certificate do they have?'
I have the Frighteners on video and when I saw the preview for LOTR:FOTR, I was thinking that the Black Riders looked JUST LIKE THE GRIM REAPER!
Alas, I love the movie...

What do you mean by certificate? If you mean the rating, I don't know but I'd discribe them as the following.
Bad taste; gore, fun
Braindead; the same but better.
Meet the the feebles; the muppets on acid
forgotten silver; a made up documentary about some guy who "invented and did" all sorts of stuff but never got famous
The frighteners; fun, spooky, thriller
Heavenly creatures; drama, got an oscor or a nomination.
I haven't personally seen Meet the feebles and Forgotten silver, but all P.J's movies rock. He also does a cameo in every film. In Bad taste he plays a lead role. You should see him in that movie; no beard, thin, hysterical laughing. I think it's usefull to see PJ's other movies cuz then you understand him better and you'l know he held back on the horror and fun part in LOTR.

What is the Frighteners about? I would not have chosen to see that based on the name alone. I don't generally like scary movies. What is it about the movie that you all base your recommendations on?

well Miruvor, most people dont like hearing all about a movie if theyve not seen it....but ok...the Frighteners is a comedy horror ghost story about a broken down architect, played by Micheal J Fox. who was involed in a car accident in which his young wife was killed....in the same accident he developed psychic powers and became able to see and communicate with spirits....having let his business go due to his breakdown, he is now a psychic "investigator" living in the half built house he and his wife were creating at the time of her death....the gimmick is, that the hauntings he investigates are created by his sidekicks, a group of three ghosts, one nerd, on hanging judge from the old west and a guy stuck in the 60s...love the bit were the judge gets his jaw stolen by the ghost dog lol lol
But then he stumbles onto a real haunting by the spirit of a serial killer, and has to deal with it after he finds that it is this entity that killed his wife and not the crash as he thought...and that spirit is killing others too.....
I like it cos its impossible to catagorise...and its funny and creepy in equal measure....quirky is the word i think lol

I doesn't look like alot of people saw other P.J movies (except the frighteners) . That is a pity and I advice you to run to the local videostore and get some P.J movies.
