My mate said a strange thing the other day.She said that The Hobbit was made at the same time as LOTR.But it hasn't, has it??
It can't have coz PJ didn't have the film rights. Is me or my mate wrong??

Totally not. There isn't even an agreement yet to make to Hobbit or no - although many people want it, Peter Jackson included.
Your mate is wrong :) but maybe she means the images we see at the start of FotR: about the finding of the Ring

The three movies was already a great gamble, because if they tanked, New Line would probably have closed down; the company definitely wouldn't have wanted to sink their money into a fourth at that point. Nope, no question about it... it hasn't been made yet.

I don't think that they have already made a Hobbit movie. I agree that if they had there would be pics on the net that leaked out.

I do however have proof that "The Hobbit" movie is coming out at lest some time soon.

I was on the internet looking up ROTK pics and came across "The Hobbit" movie poster. roflmao

I do not know if there are any more Hobbit pics out yet but I thought I would let everyone know that I found a pic that proves the movie is comming. :ring:

*snicker* that is SO a fan poster. "Bilbo" and Gandalf's silloettes are from one of the poster for FOTR of the Fellowship walking in a line.

Let's face it: The Hobbit, unless a miracle occurs, is probably not going to be made. (or unless Christopher Tolkien does it himself and he'd make sure unnecessary cut and deviations are not made. :)

but no.......theres no Hobbit movie........nor even any clear plans for one at this time......and i cant see anyone involved in the present movies wanting to return to it so soon either

Agreed... he'd make the Hobbit even longer than it was lol

Actually Ian McKellen said he wouldn't mind playing Gandalf again... anyway, that's the only major overlapping character with LotR besides Bilbo Baggins. But with the rights issue, i think it's going to be at least a few years before anything starts moving
