Any fans of her literature here at WotR?
Let's see, I rather do enjoy reading the Vampire, and the Witches Chronicles.
The Witching Hour is one of my favorites. Interview with the Vampire as well.
I did like reading Violin also.

I love Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicals. My favorite is the Vampire Lestat. He is also my favorite character, along with Marius. Did you enjoy the movie of the Queen of the Damned? I didn't like it that much as they totally changed the ending and tried to condense two books into one.

The Queen of the Damned was a fine book, yet I never saw the film, since I knew from seeing the trailers that it would be a farce and untrue to the novel.
My favorite characters of the series are Maharet, Mekere and Jesse. I like Louis and Armand also.

You were lucky then, my friend dragged me to see it... uggh. We should all be thankful that the same did not happen to LOTR!

I loved Interview as well as Lestat. I just couldn't get through Queen of the Damned, though. It felt like the characters were completely different.

I very recently read almost all of the vampire chronicals, but with the change of my religious beliefs, it just doesn't seem right anymore. I find I can only read the more tame of her novels. I had to stop in the middle of Memnoch because, well, guess the reasons. But I truly believe Rice is the Bram Stoker or Mary Shelly of our age, though she far surpasses them both in many aspects. It's only that her books are too inapprpriate for me now. . .

I've read, and reread, the Mayfair Witches books (The Witching Hour, Lasher and Taltos) and Interview with the Vampire (which is one of my favorite movies.) New Orleans has always been on my list of cities to visit, and I read that Anne Rice has a ball at her house every year (Halloween, I think)...wouldn't THAT be fun...I've read a bit about her life, and I admire her greatly...I don't know that I could survive what she's gone through...I bought "Servant of the Bones" a while back, but it's languishing under my bed because I HAD to re-read the LoTR trilogy (again) and then got waylaid by another old love...Clive Barker.

Has anyone seen the new advertisement for the Queen of the Damned DVD? They use music that sounds strikingly similar to something from the FOTR soundtrack! I believe it is also produced by New Line so they have a right to do it, but it just bothers me. They actually seem to steal soundtracks a lot. I think it was K19 that was using Gladiator music in its trailer, and a lot of other movies have done it as well. It really bothers me. Just use some music that wasn't recorded for another movie, it doesn't have to be original, just not made specifically for the theme of another movie!

I LOVE Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles...I've read them all and eagerly await the new book coming out this fall. Unfortunately the QOTD movie lost the entire plot of the book somewhere along the lines which was very disappointing, but the movie was fun to watch anyway...
