 I feel quite affectionate towards Gandalf, like a grandfather, especially when he's behaving like an old man and not a powerful wizard. I adore his character in the book and think he was the most flawlessly portrayed in the movie. Ian McKellen was fantastic. notworthy

First...Gandalf isn't little...at least to my standard...:p
lol Well...I like him anyway, with his gray pointed hat and bushy hair that sticks out in every direction! lol :whoohoo:
oh! and don't forget about his singing! (if u remember, at the beginning of FOTR)

My favorite part with Gandalf is at 2 parts: When Bilbo says at his party,"I don't like half of you as well as I should like, and i like less than half of you half as well as you deserve" And Gandalf gives a funny smile because he's the only one who understands... and also when he catches Sam 'dropping his eaves' all over the place! lol lol

Don't u guys think that Gandalf seems to be everyone's hope?(Especially in FOTR) He's sooo powerful, wise...etc. When the fellowship thinks that he's gone, the hope also fade with him...
At least the movie shows that very well

I sure hope Peter Jackson does adapt The Hobbit into a film. It would make a great prequel for LOTR. :)

Wasn't it confirmed somewhere that P.J. was indeed going to make a film version of The Hobbit, or is it still a rumor at this time?

GANDALF! Not the sex appeal of leggy...merry...frodo...etc  but he's sooo cool! He was there right from the beginning of the hobbit to the grey havens chapter in rotk. That wizard can not be kept down! GOOD ON YA GANDALF!

I'm melting now. I guess he is kinda sweet ;)
I love his wizard eyes too. But I guess they look more wonderful and wizened than cute... i dunno! he looks brilliant as Gandalf the white but he just looks so... authentic as Gandalf the grey! we all love him like that- it brings out his sort of... 'hobbit-loving' side!

Favorite Gandalf moment? Outside Orthanc, at the beginning of ROTK, when he just shakes his head and says "Hobbits!". It says so much about him- his love of the hobbits, his exasperation at their ways, and his total understanding of hobbits! :gandalf:

So many perfect Gandalf quotes now where to start?

"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us."

The whole dialogue with Pippin in RotK mecry preciousssss indeed!!!!

My favorites ones of him talking about my precioussss hobbittses:

"Hobbits really are amazing creatures... You can learn all that there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet they can still surprise you at a pinch."

"A most unquenchable hobbit! All Wizards should have a hobbit or two in their care --to teach them the meaning of the word, and to correct them."
lol awww Pippin! hehe lol

and one of my all time favorites:
"Go in peace! I will not say 'do not weep' for not all tears are an evil." mecry mecry

so many more..but Gandalf is my second favorite character of all time
yay for Gandalf :gandalf: :hooray:

I love Gandalf!
My favorite Gandalf moments are:
When Frodo and him are talking in the beginning of FotR, and he is laughing and smiling, and saying things like, "Oh, Really?" and "Good gracious me!" I love that line:)
And when he comes back to Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, and he is talking to them. I love that whole scene, esp. the part where Aragorn tells him he still speaks in riddles. Gandalf has the best facial expressions!
I guess his eyes are kinda cute, but they can be scary when hes mad!!
I think Gandalf should be a grandfather. He would be really good, just like Bilbo would. He could tell them stories, and do magic and fireworks for them! Too bad he had to sail away with the elves:(

Oh, that part really is something! That is probably the best Gandalf scene in TTT.
Of course the best Gandalf scenes in ROTK I reckon are:
the scene where he puts an arm around Pippin in ROTK is just adorable.
the scene at the beginning where he's talking to Treebeard (who calls him 'young master Gandalf...' awww!)
"Authority is not given to you to deny the return of the king!"
"So ends the reign of Denethor, son of Ecthelion." (I hate Denethor SOOO much! pfbbt He is a mean old man and is utterly barmy!)

There are many, many more. ;)

thank you!!!

well, I don't like the Denethor of the movies, but in the books he was a man who had been decieved and that was sad. so it's got two parts to it.
