The Tattoo

I'm sure all of the fanatics here have heard tell of the mythic "nine" tattoo bourne by each member of the Fellowship, written in tengwar somewhere on the body. I'm also sure that any and all who've seen the EE of FOTR have heard Billy Boyd say something to the effect of, "Well, we all promised not to show it in front of the cameras. I'll show it to you if you turn the camera off."

Dying to see it yet? Well, I have. I found it in an issue of Entertainment Weekly a while back. Ian McKellen, lifting up his right sleeve to bear the three little tengwar on the right deltoid.

Just curious if anyone else had spotted it. :grin:

Which issue?? And although I'd love to see it, I like Orlando Blooms comment that "The movie is for the fans, and the tatoo is for 'us' (the Fellowship)" I want them to have their little shared bond- it makes it seem like they truly ARE a fellowship, without all the fuss we fans make over them.

I saw a site which had the pics of the tattoos and where they had them, but the old brain is sleepy today, and I can't remember which site!:blush:
If it helps though- Elijah has his on the right hip, Sean Astin and Billy have it on their ankle, Dom and Sean Bean on the sword arm, Orlando on the wrist I think, and I don't think John Rhys Davies got one. I'm not sure where Viggo has his. I know I was always curious as to where they were!

At least he doesn't show it intentionally...but bad luck, you might say. And I suppose it must be rather difficult to cover all the time...yeah, I know, I'm making excuses...but hey, I love the guy. ;) lol

And yes I know he can't hide the tatoo at all times.. there's a perfect example in PotC when he lets it show by accident...;)

It's during the scene when he and johnny first fight.. you have to look quick, or you'll miss it.. Or just go take a peek on the Photo Forum onder Orlando Bloom.. It might be on page 2...;)

I've just watched POTC for the first time tonight, and I saw it-I did have the advantage of knowing which scene to look for!

Well Jay had to talk Elijah into showing his.. Orlando I think does it by accident most of the time.. Sir Ian, I think showed his on purpose.. And as far as I know, Sean A hasn't shown his.. Altho I do believe he said it's on his ancle.. I don't know where Dom or Billy's are.. Oh and Sean B's is on his upper arm/shoulder.. As for Viggo, I have no idea where his is.. And I think someone else said that JRD didn't get it, but his double did...;)
