Double take - comparisons between Troy (SPOILERS!) and LOTR

Or LOTR and any other films. I went to see Troy tonight, and I found so many comparisons it's unbelievable! WARNING: This thread contains warnings. :grin: And spoilers.

In no particular order:

1. (When King Agennemon (sp??) shouts the war cry.)

DEATH!!!
*audience* Hang on! I've heard that war cry before!!

2. (Paris reverting to arrow work...)
*Audience* What's Legolas doing in Troy??

3. (The shot concerning the burning arrows)
*Audience* Yay! Gandalf's fireworks!

4. (Achillies dying)
*audience* oooh... Boromir Wannabe!!

OK, that's enough for now... I can't remember any more, and it's past midnight....lol

hehe! I went to see it with Eowyn, Aranel and Erunamo, and a few others, and we just making LOTR related comments all the way through!! lol I'm determined to watch it all the way through, and make a note of them....lol

lol Thankyou so much! I saw it on a show a couple of weeks ago that was reviewing Troy, and wished I'd known he was going to do that impression so I could have taped it! Your right Evenstar, everything was perfect except for the accent :thumbs:

Anywho, back to topic ;) ... I also thought of LOTR when Achilles was dying. Looked a lot like Boromir's death.

The shape and style of the warning war bell in troy was the same as Rohan's in LotR. and yes that was a total Boromir death!!! and why did orlando shoot in the same style as Legolas he hasnt had centuries of time to perfect his bow skills he should have been slower!! and ED its spelt Agamemnon pfbbt lol

Nala, take a look at the time I posted that. Do you really think I'd spell Agamemnon right at 5 past midnight? lol Anyway, I was only a few letters out. lol Actually, Nala, about Orlando's shooting - he is shooting in totally the wrong way. His aim would have been so out, the way he shoots.
