((OOC: Return to Arnor))

I have a few ideas for this thread, which I will start as soon as I get some feed back from yall, it will include virtually every race on Middle Earth, with a few elves. As you can tell from title, it will be about Aragorn's return to Arnor. Tell me what you think and give me your ideas and thoughts on it. Thanks

well i'm thinking post war of the ring. and there i will be both armies and subtle RPing, dont worry there will be plenty of orcs and other evil things to kill, and plenty to talk about

i'm not looking for any specific parts, i hate to play the characters tolkien wrote about, this will mainly be new characters from the human races but the dwarves will be here to as well as some elves, but when the characters tolkien wrote are needed like Aragorn, then people posting will use them as needed.

Basic Outline:
Aragorn is comeing back to Arnor, he is bringing people from Gondor, along the way Riders from rohan join blah blah along the way, lay over at Rivendell, where some elves join up with you, then rangers and hobbits meet you at the shire. You get there and people begin setting up for rebuilding. we get attacked Rangers riders, and soldeirs go off to fight. Rebuild continues with dwarves from the misty mountains bla bla bla

Exmple: Aragorn asked Belak to take a small group of people to go and scout for tracks
that is how you would use aragorn or any other character tolkien made up in a post, you wouldn't play them,you would play your character as interacting with them

I have an idea for a character then. He is a winged fire drake of Morgoth, and was second in power only to Ancalagon the black. Since there are no maiar or valar leading the evil forces - Sauron and Morgoth are defeated, and all balrogs are long gone - he has gathered all orcs and trolls about him and commands them. But I can't think of a good name for this dragon. Any suggestions? Or would you prefer a character of a different race?

I think he sounds like a fantastic villain! I've never heard of someone being a dragon before, but hey, I love the idea!

I'm not very good at thinking of names. However, you could try this name generator, if you don't mind the names not being genuine Tolkien names. They just sound like Tolkien :)

Generally, you have to generate a lot to find one you like, but since it comes up with a different one each time, that's not usually a problem. The first three I got were:

I like the idea of a Dragon too, versus just raving legions of leaderless orcs. It's so..."The Hobbit"-ish. :thumbs:

Is there a character profile thread, or should I post it here?

At the moment, there isn't even an RPG, so I guess the profiles go here. But it would be good to have a separate thread. I put the reasons in the OOC for the Reforging, which you've probably already read, Saruman. If not, they just came to this: it's easier. :)

When are we actually going to start this RPG? It seems like there's plenty of interest :).

thanks for your input everyone, I really love the idea of a Dragon in charge of a few thousand orcs and urks, beside fighting himself. Dragons were considered one of the most dangerous races ever, created in Morgoth, so i think it is a wonderful idea, the name is cool but a few more ideas, Dacronis, Teluvan ( tell-oo-van), Agrimbold, or Feodruil (fay-o-drew-il). The character profiles can go here. The idea of the dragon is really good becuase one of tolkien writing bases for his books was Beowulf which had the deafeat of his main character by the dragon. So its awesome. As far as Saurman, I dont think he will be in the story, because he's dead by the time Aragorn returns. As far as when the thread for the game will be established, it will be established very soon, i wanted to wait and get feed back from everyone on it. Alright once again thanks everyone for their input. :grin:

I think this sounds really interesting and I would like to join it! I liek the name Teluvan for the dragon though.. Do you think there is any room for a hobbit-elf in this RP? If so, tell me and I will tell you about my character :D

i'm not really sure that would be true to Tolkien, to have a hobbit-elf. Yes I will have a character for this thread. I have started the actual role play thread, under the name Return to Arnor. for anyone who would like to join.

I think thehobbitelf meant a separate thread for posting character profiles, instead of having them all mixed in with this thread. I must admit, I find that a lot easier :)

Belak- Of coarse it would be true TOlkien to have a hobbitelf!!! I think that Tolkien would fully approve. I mean, there were Half-Elves and many many other things that werent whole-whatever. So yes, a hobbitelf would be very Tolkien-like if you ask me.

Name: Teluvan
Race: Uruloki (winged, fire breathing Dragons)
History: Teluvan was created by Morgoth in the First Age. He was of the fire drakes, the deadliest of dragons, but was second in power to Ancalagon the Black. However, he never used his power to its fullest; instead he relied on stealth to ensnare his enemies. Like all dragons he is cunning, but not wise, as he has the personality flaws of arrogance, vanity, greed, deceit and so on. After the defeat of Morgoth, he, like many of his master's creatures, fled to the deep places of the world. He was only recently unearhed and awoken by the dark creatures of the Misty Mountains.

Name: Melathwen
Age: A little older then Elladan and Elrohir. Say, a couple of centuries.
Race: Elf, of Imladris
Heritage: Daughter of one of Elrond's boyhood friends, not very important.
Appearance: Tall, long golden hair that is always in a plait hanging over her right shoulder. She has large blue eyes that usually hold a glint of mischief, though she can mask that. She is slender and athletic, and usually wears pale green leggings, a pale blue shirt and dark green tunic, with a cloak that seems to fade into whatever it is next to. Very good at remaining unnoticed.
Weapons: A long bow of golden wood, two knives in her quiver that have unusually long blades and sometimes carries a slightly curved sword, but she is better with her knives.
Other: Good at tracking, some skill at healing. Fearless warrior, but does not reveal much about herself. Prefers to watch rather than do.

If this RPG gets going, I'm still intrerested, but I'm away from 28th to 4th, so I won't be able to come on then, and I'm away 7th to 21st August as well, and I don't know if I'll be able to come on in between. I will try, but if someone could post for Mel I would be grateful :)
