Hey! I'm new here as you can see by my joined date and post count (or lack of).. I just wanted to say that I'm impressed with the way the forum is conducted. I like that it's a "democracy" to some extent. You allow people to post suggestions which are actually considered even if they're new. I think that's pretty cool.

And ...well....we felt that it was important that since the forums were going to be an integral (sp?) part of the site as a whole, and that we were choosing to call it a "community", we had better ensure this place actually functions like a community.

We want our community to be a place for Tolkien fans of all ages to feel at home...and it warms the heart to know that maybe...just maybe...we're accomplishing just that. :p

I would just like to say that I have visited (& been a member) of many other forums, but WotR is by far the BEST notworthy !!!
I am so impressed by the helpful, friendly attitudes I always find here!!!!

I guess I've been spoiled by WOTR, because every time I look into other forums on other sites, I don't have the slightest inclination to join. :rolleyes: For instance, at a certain popular movie site (I won't mention it's name. :rolleyes: )everyone over there is bashing each other, it is not a pleasant place to be. This is the one and only real "family" on the web, at least from what I've seen. People just don't treat each other well. :angry: But here, I've gained so many mutual friends... people here are kind, and they are respectable even if they don't agree with you. I appreciate it very much. I think there are some new people coming into this forum not knowing what to expect, and they must be shocked at the difference here from the other forums. :thumbs:

I find I must agree with Jem....I'm not a big one on posting on movie or fan sites...it just isn't 'me', and I don't like those people I do meet. But I have found this site to be warm, welcoming, and a group of truly friendly people. Sure, we have our differences, but for the most part everyone is kind, and devoted to the tales of JRR.
