Keep in mind that this is in Very rough form - misspellings and all. Rest assured - the final version will have Rivendell, Glorfindel etc...

Very good job, Dernhelm! I just read the whole story lastnight. I really liked it! You write very well, I was very impressed (this coming from a published fiction writer). I am glad I was able to contribute to a story that Tolkien himself would be proud of. You should defenately write more.

Here's to your future success as an author entdraught

I so deeply appreciate you taking the time to read my story. I've been feeling a little down lately as no one seems to have an interest in even finishing reading it anymore. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and again for helping me out with the Elvish words.

May I ask about your writing? I would love to read something from a published member of this fine fansite!

Unfortunately none of my stories are about LotR! :(

I don't have much published yet, but I'm only 24, so I gess I have some time left!. My first book, which was published when I was 17, is a collection of true short stories of my adventures with wildlife growing up. I also drew the ilistrations. I have had articles and short stories published in magazines, and currantly I am writing a science fiction trilogy of full-length novels that won't be published for some time yet.

WOW! Short stories about your adventures growing up with wildlife - that is so totally cool. And illustrated by you - that is beyond cool AND quite a coincidence since I too am doing illustrations for my story!

I have some of my previous work posted here, but if you would like a sneak-peek at the first illustration, I'd be delighted to pm you with my email addy and send it to you for your suggestions! It's a picture of Sam sitting by Frodo's bedside.

You mentioned you had some articles published in magazines. I you have any to commend to me, I will make every effort to find a copy and read it!.

I just read your story, Dernhelm, and I loved it. Really, it did sound like it was Tolkien. I tried once, to write a story about Arwen before Aragorn was there--but I failed pretty miserably. The idea was rather nice but it didn't work.

I'm glad yours did!

Thank you so much Tar-Ancalime! I'm glad that you enjoyed it and very grateful that you chose to read it. You have paid me a very high compliment that has totally lifted my spirits today.

Don't give up on your writing efforts! I tell you the truth, I never could write anything before and believe me, I tried. May I make a suggestion? Go back and re-read what Tolkien wrote concerning Aragorn and Arwen. Trust me, there is a story there wating to be written and you just might be the one to do it!;)

Well thx for the advice, Dernhelm.
The plot of my story was supposed to be Arwen getting interested in this elf from Mirkwood (No! not legolas) but it just doesn't work out (lots of regret and what-might-have-been's) and she decides to live the rest of her days at Rivendell and devote herself to her father (very disillousioned was she) ... flash to parting with said father when he laeves middle-earth and she stays... very sad it was.

But I guess I didn't give it enough thought or work. Anyway it was fun to imagine.

I would really like to read your finished product!! :)
