Any experience with by-the-sword.com? mithrilarmoury?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a Windlass Steelcrafts Mercenary (Boromir) or Ranger (Aragorn) "functional" sword. From other boards, I've found out that Windlass is a good middle-price outfit.

Has anyone had dealings with either by-the-sword.com or mithrilarmoury.com? Good? Bad? Reputable?

I haven't had any dealings with them but I have heard that a few of the swords have that rat-tail tang that aren't safe at all,as soon as you swing them the blade flies off...

my friend had an axe like that and we were playing and he swung it..if i hadn't had ducked then i would have literally lost my head!!!

my best advice would be to e-mail them and check out how the blade is attatched to the tang...otherwise if it does turn out to be a rat-tail,then don't swing it!!! whatever you do!!!

man, they can get sued for that! thats dangerous and they're selling without warnings.

you cant be sued, its buy and use at your own risk...people have to be liable for their own actions ;)

windlass are cheap, getting better but overall just beaters...

The lady who runs the mithirl armoury is very nice and puts in a lot of effort - when the elven dirk was out, she went out and tried to find a replacement for me. She sends a tracking # for order. I'd recomend her.
