Well the trailer looks great, especially on the big screen. I loved the shots of Eowyn and Helm's Deep. Treebeard looked a bit ropey but it is early days with the cgi etc.

What did you all make of it?

Oh I loved Theoden's recital as well, very fitting, captured the spirit of Rohan well I thought.

It's almost unbelievable to realize how much they actually crammed into the trailer. Helm's Deep, Rohan, Treebeard, Gandalf's "resurrection".

two things that utterly made it for me. the unbelievable shot of the orcs surrounding Helm's Deep. even thinking about it now gives me chills...perfectly done...makes me giddy about how good Helm's Deep will really be. and then...that amazing glimpse of Aragorn picking up the lost leaf pin. the look of forlorn hope on Mortensen's face is beautiful.

but really, hard to not comment on everything in the trailer....from Eowyn, Theoden, Legolas and Treebeard. to be honest, my only reservation is Gandalf's staff. it looks so utterly....blase. but maybe thats just me...it usually is :grin:

I agree with Ronin, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the helm's deep stuff (legolas is gonna KICK BUTT MAN!). The only thing i thought was crap was the whole Gandalf scene. In the book, great, on screen, no...just, no...

Why'd they give Gandalf Saruman hair!?! I mean REALLY, do they think no-one would notice that they cut down on costs by using the same wig...?

Anyone else share my doubts about the Saruman/Gandalf (or shall I say 'Sarualf') thing going on?

yeah. personally i think that they shouldn't have out that in the book (come on, let them think he's dead...). and i wanted ENTS!!! oh, poo. but yeah. other that that i LOVED it and i want TTT NNNNNNNOOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but yeah...the wig thing kinda bugged me too, but i can cope. i suppose it WAS cheaper...but did Gandalf's hair ever actually CHANGE colour in the book?!?

I've seen the trailer twice now, and I can't WAIT till December for the film. It looks so good.

The part I really am waiting for is the battle at Helm's Deep. Battles and wars are not really my thing at all, and I've never managed to visualise it when reading the book; from the look of the trailer, my understanding and enjoyment are going to be greatly enhanced in future. Bless PJ!

My fav parts of the book were the fight scenes. I have trouble visulising gondor but when legolas shoots three arrows at once off the top of the wall at helm's deep - that i can see!

just thinking about the Orcs shouting, chanting outside Helm's Deep sends a shiver down my spine. actually a little scared about seeing it on screen...no doubts about PJ meeting my huge expectations...just about getting...too excited :grin:

didn't know what i'd think about Eowyn's blonde hair...but looks pretty great...it fits.

I've seen the trailer a few times now...and the Orcs at Helm's deep always gets me.It's so..primal. Also i loved the whole look of Edoras and Brad Douriff looks wondeful as Grima Wormtongue. Legolas using the fighting knives...well..probably can't tell you my reaction to that...but those who know me can guess:naughty:

yeah.....im looking forward to those riding scenes....i know young master Bloom worked very hard on them, and what ive seen looks very cool :cool: And i love horses, so itll be nice to see some in the movies...theyre lovely horses too....

When I first heard about the surfing thing, I thought it would be really cheesy, but when I saw it in the trailer it actually looked pretty natural. I'm not a Legolas swooner, but you can't argue the coolness of the slicing dicing ginsu knives. ;)

i downloaded the trailer using morpheus...it was very cool...i liked it in..i dunno which battle seen...but when gandalf comes riding out fighting or something...i didn't know what it was at first, i had to keep replaying the seen...
