I've seen it, good effects, decent story... something which must be seen indeed, but not my favourite

i've seen it. i think it's great! however, i'm not looking forward to the sequel, Matrix Reloaded. looks kind of cheezy, i dont think a story like that needs a sequel

I enjoyed the first Matrix film, and hopefully the sequel will be okay.

Yeah... I do not think The Matrix goes good with its own sequel... nor do I think Spiderman deserves one either... What is there left to tell? :huh: ;) lol

Well, as far as Spiderman, the first movie followed the comic book story line very well, as it was basically just an introduction to Peter Parker and how he gained his spidey strength. There are still many more villains to be introduced, and if done proper they could make 5-10 more Spidey movies easy! The same goes for X-Men, both of those movies have characters that have been evolving for years, and have the fan base to back it.

The Matrix on the other hand, I have to agree that a sequel would be hard pressed to live up to the original as the main plaot was exposed and Neo, had gained actually become one with the Matrix itself(so to speak).

What's left now but to shutdown the computers and free mankind. But oh what a world they're going to awaken to eh?

Making a good sequel is harder than making a good new film, but every sequel makes money, no matter what...

There are sequels which are good, some are even as good as the first one (better is hard to achieve and even harder to tell). But the majority is something I went to watch because of the first one. And bad sequels decrease

There's been time since I watched the Matrix and I don't have it right now, but I don't think it is meant to have a sequal...

I like The Matrix, it indeed must have good qualities if it can overcome the talent void that is Keanu Reeves. Sorry to any fans out there, but Reeves is in my oh so humble opinion the worst actor to reach fame.......

But besides that, good, though I am slightly dreading the sequels. I imagine everything will be bigger and showier, and I'm afraid that the decent storyline will be lost amongst it.

The two other sequels will wrap the stroy entirerly, with the triumph of humans over the aliens running their planet probably but I also don't think they will beat the original.

When do the sequels come out? Does anyone know? I haven't been up on finding out about the up-coming films lately.
And I've heard of the Matrix Reloaded, but I've not heard of the other one. Does anyone know what is is called?

It called The Matrix: Revolution (pretty sure) I've seen the trailers for both, but I don't know when they come out.

I wouldn't know Black Rider. I saw both trailers combined on E! You know, entertainment television. :rolleyes: I couldn't make anything out of it, it was all action. Good looking action though. I keep hoping Keanu Reeves will be mute for some reason in the film.... and wear a mask all the time. Okay, enough of that.

Does anyone know if Agent Smith will come back for the sequels? It just wouldn't be the Matrix without him. IMO he is what makes the movie worth watching more than once!

Actually, I think Revolutions is a prequal, meaning no Reeves at all! :)

I saw the matrix about two years after everyone else did. :) But I thought it kicked major ASCII. In fact, I'd venture to say it's my second favorite movie of all time (anyone care to guess what the first one is? ;) ).

And as far as Hugo Weaving goes, I can only say one thing:
"As you can see, Mr. Baggins, we've had our eye on you for quite some time. It seems you have been living two lives. In one, you are Frodo Baggins, respectable resident of Bag End. You have a social security number, you pay your taxes... and you help your gaffer plant his potatoes..." =P

i really liked the Matrix, but i thought it was kinda weird having Hugo as Elrond... i still can't get by that "agent smith" part of him. My dad loves the Matrix - it's his favorite movie! And when i saw LOTR for the first time, him, my mom, and my brother also went and when we first saw Elrond, everyone at the same time turns to him and says something like "hey! it's the guy from the Matrix!" roflmao

This was a very strange movie. It was ok. I can say "I've seen it" and all that, but I don't think I'd see it a second time. lol...I finally realized that Hugo Weaving was Agent Smith about half way thru the The Matrix. I was like, "Oh my gosh! That's Elrond!! Now those jokes make sence!!" LOL

I was totally freaked out by the goo stuff and did not really understand the whole thing as I watched it.
