Sounds a bit formal that, anyway...

We are looking for people to help us out with information and content on The Hobbit.

It might be writing some book summaries, hobbit quizzes, cast details (some guessing!), forum work, etc. Really a Hobbit Book/Movie fan site of sorts.

This is partly for a sub section of War of the Ring but also for a separate site just about the Hobbit, the movie in particular once its announced. But lots of book info too. We have some new Saruman type technology where we can share content across our sites so collating things of interest to particular folks and what not. We are keen to use this.

It should be pretty exciting with whole bunch of features we have on our other site but cannot retrospectivly program into wotr.

Like I say it will also boost the content on wotr itself but give an outlet for very specific Hobbit information. So if you feel the mountain calling then give us a buzz.

No age restriction on this request as PG sites.

Really enthusiasm and ideas as well as a willingness to get stuck in. No tech ability needed.

Drop a mail to Fatty /at/ hobbitmovie /dot/ net if interested.

Any questions just ask.

Sounds like good fun, Fatty
"stuck in", eh? Are we talking Midgewater Marsh stuck, button popping door of the goblin cave stuck or just stuck in the Eagle's nest stuck? lol

I'd love to help if I can. I'm very busy, but I would very much love to help!

I've written this little part as an idea on how PJ could start and end it.

[We see Bilbo (someone other than Ian Holm) sitting in his room in Rivendell looking back through his book. Frodo (Elijah Wood) is sitting in the corner reading while Merry (Dom Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) play a game of chess in another corner and Sam (Sean Astin) packs. Bilbo sighs and Frodo looks up and asks him what is wrong. Biblo just smiles and gestures towards the book he holds in his hand.]

Bilbo: "Ah Frodo my lad. I was just thinking of my adventure I had so many years ago. If I had the choice to go on another one...I would do it in an instant. I have no regrets about that journey. Shall I tell it to you my lad one last time before you leave tomorrow?"

Frodo: "Yes...I should like it if you would, dear Uncle."

[Frodo closes his book and comes to sit at Bilbo's feet, just like he did as a child. Sam notices the beginnings of a story and so leaves his packing and comes to sit next to Frodo. Frodo nods for Bilbo to begin. Bilbo opens his book and begins to read with a small smile on his weatherd face.]

Bilbo: "There and Back Again; A Hobbits Tale by Bilbo Baggins...."

That's how it starts. Then while he's reading, Merry, Pippin, and Gandalf (Ian McKellen, who happened by in the nick of time) join them for the reading. Then The Hobbit actually begins and we get to journey through Middle Earth again.

When The Hobbit ends, we see Frodo in Bag End reading the end of the book. Frodo sighs and smiles as he stands and glances out the window. He looks back at the book then he heads to the study, sits down, opens the book, takes his pen, and begins to write where Bilbo left off.

We know he writes LotR. That's just my idea of how PJ could start and end it.

Amithrellas, I think button popping, as we are balancing a few balls at the moment, though it will probably feel more like chasing fires in Mirkwood. :-)

Heart-of-a-Hobbit, thats not bad at all. I bet that would be most appealing to New Line Cinema execs. They will want to make the connection for the non-book readers. They will also have to get over that everyone in the media will call it a prequel...

Though I wonder if more people have not read The Hobbit than LOTR since it is often done in schools, though not mine. We got Of Mice and Men Instead and When the Machine Stops :-)

But if you are busy just wait till it opens up and then get involved, or give me a shout whenever you have some time :-)

I expect we will have the machinations (is that a word?) working very shortly. But as ever content is the key and the curse but all the fun too!

I think they should castJoe Pesci to be Bilbo Baggins
