Out of the Blackness

[Friend of Maglor]

Know the story of Gwindor? Have you ever been intrigued by the struggles of the other elves, refugees from the torment and darkness of Morgoth? Physically impaired, and outcast by their own kind?

This is an RPG that needs the following:

:read: since it is about the refugees, we will need several people willing to play non-perfect elves, I myself will play a male character named Finnar

:read: outside characters, please not very many! will be needed later on to interact with the refugee elves

I like this idea, FoM, can I join. I think I'd like a slightly older male elf, perhaps put to work as a craftsman? I'll think about it, but let me know if you get any great ideas for him! lol

I like that idea, Dawn, although I have never played a father before! Or mother, come to think of it lol I think maybe that would be quite hard, but I like the sound of the challenge!

I don't know. I guess it would be kind of fun having them look for each other, but perhaps your character is the sort of person that likes being free from the *constraining* leash of a father? Then he could look for her, but not she for him. That could spark some pretty nice rows :evil: I'm not evil. Honest. lol Yea. I think that would be fun :)

Mell, I think I have one person who might like to join... I'll see her tomorrow and ask. adn why not ask Ceri? I think she's enjoying the Epic, although it hasn't got far yet, so why not ask her if she'd like this one, too? She's sick at the moment though, so I won't see her tomorrow, or I doubt it. But if I do, I'll ask :grin: and if she comes here, tell her from me that she is not allowed to be sick anymore. I need her!

Name: Errath go-Thalion

Age: born in Valinor, late third generation

Race: Noldorian elf

Height: 6’9”

Appearance: Black hair that is really more of a stone grey color- shoulder length and bound at his neck. His eyes were originally a very light grey, but his right is now white (blinded in an accident). He has three very deep scars running up the right side of his face, and an “X” branded on his left shoulder and wrist (result of a failed escape attempt). Despite foul treatment, he is very strong due to the incessant labor he was forced to do, and is broad shouldered, though he bears many whip marks. He wears grey habitually, when he has the choice…

Weapons: All were stripped from him at his capture, but in the forgeries he secretly made a long, thin bladed dagger, which he carries hidden on his person. As for fighting skills… well, he sure hasn’t forgotten anything ;)

Bio: Brought alive into Angband with many of his people, Errath saw his wife slain slowly before his eyes. Since he had skill with metals, he was forced to work deep in the mines and forges of Morgoth. Errath had the incredible good fortune never to be brought before either of the Dark lords, and his mind is very much intact. Unlike most of the prisoners, he never lapsed into hopelessness or fear, and—a natural leader—organized the making of the secret tunnels which eventually granted him and a few others their freedom. In the days when he was of worth, he was a counselor of Fingon the Valiant. He had a son, Darreth, but he was killed in the Dagor Bragollach. Knowing that he was alone with none to mourn his death, Errath made it his life’s purpose to try to reunite captives with their lost families. His first attempt was discovered when one of the fugitives panicked in the nauseatingly close spaces and was caught. He was recognized as the leader and branded, but allowed to live do to his skill in the forge.


I was planning on having this story open up post-Nirnaeth with the successful escape attempt…. Any thoughts? :huh:
