Smeagol (b4 the ring)

It looks like the history of Gollum will be brought to life in TTT. As seen here (http://www.quintessentialwebsites.com/lordoftherings/moviecast/index.htm), (scroll down and find gollum) Smeagol will be shown before he found the ring. I suppose there will be flashbacks of this point of time in his life....

Having Smeagol shown before his.... disfigurement and so on.... should really humanized his part. So this Joel Tolbeck will use his natural voice I'm assuming. But in the first film when Gollum picks up the ring he's already hissing.........?? Hmmm...

Will Deagol be shown? Will Smeagol be shown throttling him to death? That could make for a very interesting and disturbing scene.... I suppose we can only wonder....

This is VERY exciting. Did you also see Denethor and most of the other hobbits like Lotho near the bottom and most interesting was Elanor right at the end with Sam. Could be a pic from Return of the King :cool: :whoohoo: :cool:

In the first film, you see Smeagol's hand pick up the ring. Then it cuts to Gollum's hand holding it (you can tell because the color is different). That's when he hisses and says his trademarked "My preciousssssssss...."

It will be interesting to try and draw parallels between the hobbity looking Smeagol and Gollum..... I am greatly looking forward to it. I wonder if the flash-back scenes will be at the very beginning of the movie in prologue form like in Fotr..... and then cut to Gollum creeping down the rock wall. :thumbs: Sounds promising.

hmm this is cool! i can't wait to see the story on screen. and i agree it will be interesting to see the connections of Smeagol and Gollum. maybe they'll make Gollum an exagerated form of every single one of Smeagol's faults to show the corruption of the evil ring.

also, i thought Deagol finds the ring, and smeagol kills him for it, so it had to have been Deagol's hand. but i didnt see a character for him in those pictures, so they probably just cut him out. :mecry:

Ah, true, true. Apparently I need to read the books again. :)

All it says in the Fellowship prologue is "the ring came to the creature gollum." So that still leaves it open for Deagol to find the ring and Smeagol to kill him for it.

I think they showed him as a hobbit, but went on after a few years or so, because his hand was pale when he first took the ring, but was black after. Does this make any sense?:blush:

Well, I actually saw 2 pictures from Return of the King, and Sam his hugging Elanor in the Shire, in front of Bag End... I can't seem to find it tho. I will sure to post it when i find it, only if you want to see them, of course... I do believe its on theonering.net tho..

Personally, I hope they don't extend the prologue too much in the SE DVD. I thought it was the perfect length as it was - gave just enough information to tell you what was going on, but no really superfluous details.

I have a feeling that the pic of Smeagol and Deagol will be in TTT and Quintessential is actually wrong about something! :)
