Allrighty folks...some of you will already have seen that there are two different productions of the story about Beowulf in the make. The movie in question here is a canadian/icelandic production directed by Sturla Gunnarson, it starrs among others Gerard Butler and Stellan Skarsgård.

IIRC Wealtheow was the only woman in the original poem to have a speaking line.

What impresses my most about the costumes is the detail work, also they simply look authentic like they came straight off the loom.

They certainly do...the texture of the fabrics look so authentic, and I just love the design! *prays that her sewingmachine will get well again!*

the costumes are absolutely gorgeous! i'm deffinitely looking forward to seeing more of them

i don't know how the story will be tho, they always manage to screw it up somehow, and since i'm a big fan of the epic i don't know how it will go over.

Well I feel pretty darn good about this project. ;)

Mostly because everything, repeat everything, seems to have been carefully hand produced whenever possible. Ships, hall, costumes, I'd like to see a figure for the total number of costumes made for the film, would give a nice idea of the project's actually size.
