I OFFICIALLY LOOOOOOOVE ASH! I'm not sure how famous they are in the US....or anywhere else....but british peeps should be ashamed of themselves if they do not know who ash are!
If u r one of those people then here is what they have released recently...ish... lol
SHINING LIGHT
BURN BABY BURN
CANDY
SOMETIMES
and their new single ENVY! "Envy! Envy! E-e-e-e-envy!"

Oh...and if you ARE a fan...you will be excited to know that...
I MET CHARLOTTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :elfeek: :o :elfeek:
(...the girl who plays guitar and does some vocals...)
It was the coolest thing! My friend and i were on the underground in london after seeing sugarcoma and skindred at a gig, and she pointed out that a girl near us looked like charlotte from ash...rather loudly...the girl in question gave us a funny smile and we were like "oh my god! that IS the girl from ash!"
We got her autograph and chatted for 15 mins until we had to get off at our stop. She was so friendly. She asked us about reading and the gig we'd been to and what music we were into. I was really nervous and smiled loads...and my friend was like "you know you're like, her favourite band!"
She also gave us the copy of NME (music mag) that she was reading!
I'm sorry to have gone on...but it was yesterday...and i am still sooooooo hyped!
:whoohoo: :whoohoo: :whoohoo:

It's really cool to see coldplay doing well in the US...go brits! :brave: :p lol
Hopefully jen...i mean...the quality of ash should not go unheard by anyone...
Undomiel...i know...believe me i appreciate how lucky i was to get on the same sub train as her...i mean...if we hadn't run for it...then we wouldn't have got on...and met her...ahh...what ifs... pfbbt :p
I really need to see them live...you know how when you see a band...there are the die-hard fans that know all the words off the first album that most people have never heard of...then there are the fans who know the songs released and like them...then there is the people who obviously went to the wrong concert and end up throwing stuff at the stage...well...i wanna be the first kind...! :)

lol they were v. cool live, though i have to admit I dont know all the words or nething. One band i have all the albums of is Nirvana, and I will never get to see them. Then I have all of Muse's albums (wow, 3lol) and ive seen them twice and i was singing along till i lost my voice from shouting. I have selections of most albums, and i copy loads coz i have a cd writer. The Foo Fighters are great. Ok this is turning into my fave bands again soz. As i was saying Ash were amazing, and there banner that they had at Leeds was sooo cool.

i only have the first 2 muse albums cos i bought the dvd of hullabaloo and therefore couldn't afford the cd as well....i spend way too much (if thats possible) on Cd's.....on monday i spent Ł37 on the 2 U2 best of CD's!!!

The dvd is so good. I havent got it myself but my bf has and so i just steal it from him. I really like the CD. The weird B-sides are amazing. Specially hyperchondriac music, which is this really slowed down version of hyper music. Actually Ash came on one before Muse at Leeds. It was really cool coz the bands got better and better, Ash, Muse, Foo Fighters!!!!

November 7th,2002, 01:54 PM
i've seen muse live and they were amazing but it was a couple of years ago before i got the albums so didn't know half the words!

i saw them at the Manchester Apollo too the November before. I havent been to that many concerts. I havent seen Ash except at Leeds. I've seen A. Actually most of the bands Ive seen have been at Leeds coz good bands dnt turn up here often enough. I cant wait to see Foo Fighters though :) only a week and a day to go!

lol well i am amazing (lie detector goes crazy) lol i have definitely been lucky-actually A were at Leeds too. You see all you have to do is go to a festival and ure bound to see some amazing bands. Me and my friends checked all the line-ups to see which would be best and we chose Leeds and it rocked!!!!:) going to smaller gigs is good tho coz you see the band really close up. At the Muse one in MAnchester i was near the front and i was like "wow-Matt Bellamy is feet away from me! Twoz so cool" if you can go and see them!!!!

November 11th,2002, 12:03 AM
yeah we looked at going to V, but it didnt look too good really. The Foo Fighters and Muse et al were too enticing. My parents let me go this year 4 the first time and i'm older than you so i think ure doing pretty good getting to V. lol how do you get free tickets????
Bonos-Girl
November 11th,2002, 11:26 AM
i go to a 'rock summer school' run by virgin and last year they sent us the wrong tickets so we all got into the VIP area!!!

November 13th,2002, 05:29 PM
i never got to meet matt or dave (unfortunaetly!)...i told all my mates that if they saw any member of muse they had to come and get me....and then a few hours later they came back and said 'oh...did we tell you yet..bout half and hour ago we met the bassist from muse'....i was soo annoyed...

November 13th,2002, 08:48 PM

its weird. alot of US bands make it over here, but alot of UK bands dont even get heard of there. Though then again there must be loads of US bands that dont make it as well. Still i the US people are deprived of some really good bands.
Bonos-Girl
November 14th,2002, 05:57 PM
a lot of people in the Uk probably haven't heard of a lot of bands i think are cool so.....
some bands seem to make it in the US but not UK even thouhg they're english though...weird....
Undomiel
November 14th,2002, 11:24 PM
yeah that is also true. i sometimes despair of Britains taste in music when i see some of the things that get to No 1. It's quite scary actually.

i know...teletubbies for god sake...they are a childrens' programme...this does not mean they make good music....what's wrong with people.....
today in assembly because of children in need we got to choose out of U2 and something else to listen to on the way out...and of course i chose U2....then our very evil deputy head said 'whoops....i forgot about this.' and held up the blue album...guess what people voted for...yep...i had to sit through Blue when it could have been U2...now that was torture!!!

it's when things like "hey baby" get to no. 1 that i consider suicide lol i just cant stand things like that. Dance anthems in general in fact.
Bonos-Girl
November 15th,2002, 09:47 PM
i don't get why dance tracks get into the top forty cos i can't see anyone except DJ's buying them yet the sell in thousands and even millions....weird!!
