WotR Forum Member Shirts!

We are now able to offer shirts bearing your own forum username, and even your forum title if you have one! :cool: Make your choice from our range of shirts, and pick a Tolkien inspired image to be displayed with your name!

If you for some reason don't want to have your username on a shirt, I have back up ready! The fab people in our language forum will assist you in translating your real name to Quenya or Sindarin. You can even have it transcribed into beautiful tengwar! Another option can be a favourite quote.

Jr. Ringer T, Womens Tank Top and Jr. Babydoll. The Ringer T comes in three colors, the others only in white.

The shirts are being printed at our shop at Cafe Press (http://www.cafepress.com/wotrshop) where you can see the full range of shirtmodels. You will however not see the cathegory "WotR Forum Shirts" in there, for two reasons: one is that we don't want someone accidentally ordering a shirt with someone elses username on it :o, another is that I have to customize the images with each purchase.

The shirts come with the text "WaroftheRing.net" on the back with small letters. It's also possible to get a pocket image instead of the large one in front.

Prosedure to order will be as follows:

- Go to Cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com/wotrshop) to look at the product range. Never mind that the images are different, just make a note of the name of the model you want,(f.ex.Jr.Ringer T).
- Look at the images in the first post of this thread and pick one.
- Decide whether you want your username, (and title if you have one), or a translation displayed on the shirt.
- PM me with your decissions.

I will then customize the chosen image to your specifications, upload it to CafePress and finally PM you so you can make your purchase! I will also provide a link to the location of your shirt. The prosedure at CafePress is easypeasy....so have your creditcard ready! After you've made your purchase I will need a notification from you so I can remove your shirt from the shop.

If you should feel the urge to do any of the following;

- donate an image you have the copyright to
- share an idea for an image

...please do PM me, or mail me at cuielrilwen@warofthering.net, and we'll have an inspirational conversation! :grin:

The range of images will be expanded so you'll have more to choose from. When it comes to image designs we have the power to do almost anything as long as it's not copyrighted, (even if experience has taught me that too detailed pictures sometimes don't work well), so don't hesitate to ask! :)

I'm so glad you like the idea!!! :whoohoo: If you want a shirt you need to go to CafePress to look at the shirt models and deside which one you want...but no ordering in there just yet! Once you've desided...pick an image from the first post of this thread...then PM me with your decissions! I will then customize the image you've chosen with your username/ title, and PM you so you can go back to CafePress to make the purchase! After you've ordered I will expect you to PM me so I can remove the shirt from the shop again.

Which one do you like best? I prefer the White Tree of Gondor myself...but I will be making some more images in a while.

My intention is actually to have at least one image from each race, fraction or community in Middle Earth. Perhaps it would be possible to make images from certain important passages from LotR...or maybe some that represent the other stories, like the Sil or summat. After all they are stuffed with symbols so should be possible! Any suggestions are welcomed! :)

Hey Guess What!
I got my t-shirt yesterday!!! :hooray: And its really cute :) I highly recommend them!
I have the jr. ringer tee in the mint/avacado color, and I am very pleased. The printing looks even better in person, too!
Size-wise, it doesn't run as small as I thought, so I probably could have gotten a smaller size, but I like it and its cotton too, so thats probably a good thing ;)

But yeah, these are cute, you all need one, buy a shirt! :thumbs:

Alrighty guys...I got my tank-top with the white tree on it and tho it's not looking bad I decided to change the colors a bit so it will show better on the white background. The first is the old one and then two new ones, hope that you can take a peak and tell me if the blue one is good or not. Obviously it will be like a blue square on the white shirt and I'm not sure about that.

Weeeeee finally a piccie! And you look great in it too, Laurie! I'm pleased to see that the neckline is somewhat deeper than I thought it would be...I just hate it when it goes too far up! Say does the photo do the color justice? It's looking somewhat lighter than I imagined it. All in all it looks very good! :thumbs: I think I'm gonna opt for that model next time I order! :)

In order to buy a shirt you need to go to Cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com/wotrshop) and look at the different shirts avalable. Remember you can pick any shirt in the whole range, also those outside of the category "WotR Forum Member Shirts", some even come in different colors. If you try to follow through on a purchase on any of them you will get size and color info...just cancel the purchase before you're done. Then decide on an image out of the ones shown in the first post of this thread...also follow the links at the bottom to see whatever new ones have been added after the first post was made.

Then you can PM me with your choice of shirt, image, your username and/or title, and whether you want any of it translated into Quenya or Sindarin, and/or perhaps transcribed with tengwar...I'll create the shirt and provide a link so you can go get it!

Everyone makes this mistake in the beginning...including me! You need to open the image, rightclick on it and choose properties...then copy and paste the URL into the image tags...that will make it work nicely!

I adjusted the armholes so it fit me better. Note that the tree has undergone some changes after this...the color has been darkened several notches on the current image!

That's a good question. What is going on, Cuiel? I think I am a tad confused as well.

The Tolkien Estate is comming down on us for using our site name,(which they see as their property since JRR wrote a story called "The War of the Ring"), and also for using imagery inspired by his works even if they are my own depictions, on our shirts.

Basically there is no law against creating fandomes like WotR using copyrighted stuff as long as you don't make any money on it AND don't claim it as your own; not so when we earn some petty cash on selling a few shirts a year. That's what's happening and that's also why I haven't bothered to work on anymore images lately.

So I really don't know what will happen; most of our images are down and I can't really make anything new until I know what I have to work with. Sorry about that but there's not much I can do. :(
