View Full Version : The teaser trailer

I found a teaser trailer for the Hobbit. Looks like fan-made, altough it is made very good. First is the real NewLine Cinema logo, then some scenes from FOTR, like Gandalf's arrival, Bilbo finding the Ring..... then we see Smaug flying over Esgaroth and burning and attacking it. In the background is the theme from "Requiem A Dream".....
At the end it says:

The Hobbit

Directed by: Peter Jackson

Ian Holm Ian McKellen Andy Serkis

Smaug awakens

December 19

2006

My question is: do you know who made that trailer? The question is maybe silly, but it keeps poking my mind......so i asked.

I don't know who made it, but I did hear about it and believe it to be a fake. Can you provide the link? I'm curious to see it. :p

The problem is that i didn't download it from a link.... I downloaded it by EMule..... I can send it to you, if you want.......or i can upload it on rapidshare...
P.S. It is surely a fake..... but it is made well, the dragon looks very good.... maybe they "borrowed" those scenes with the dragon from another movie.....

Oh, it is beginning to sound more and more familiar...I think I have already seen it. Hmmm I don't know what EMule or Rapidshare is...But thanks anyway! ;)

And yes, it is definately a fan-made one.

Yup that was made a while back. I think the dragon footage came from dragonslayer or dragonheart but I honestly can't remember. Anyways it seems unlikely that the Hobbit will appear before 07 at the earliest.

I agree with that - From what I recall, the dragon footage came from Dragonslayer.

I've seen this before, and although it's fake, it still looks pretty good, and it got me all excited for the real thing. Can you imagine sitting in the theatre and all of a sudden..the preview for The Hobbit. I think I'd have a heart attack or something. lol Can't wait. ;)

You can tell it's fake. Good, however, I think if they used less footage from LOTR...I think I'd be able to appreciate it a little more. I had no sound for it this time around...but who knows....aside from that though...it was alright.

I've just realised something - it's the same music that is used on the the international trailer for Harry Potter! (Or very close to it.)

Well, the trailer is definitely fan made. The dragon scenes in it were from a movie called 'Dragonslayer' I seen a bit of it on cable not too long ago...it wasn't that good. The trailer was fairly well done, nothing too spectacular though. And as of the music, I have heard it before in a LOTR game trailer...it might have been LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, or something along those lines. But it was in a LOTR game trailer for sure...I really hope this movie is going to be made.

Peppyy
October 9th,2005, 02:45 PM
I hope they will made it, too. As for the music... I have LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, and I think it isn't from there... The soing's name is A Requiem For a Dream. I think it is from the a movie... Anyway, I like it very much!

Stormcrow
October 9th,2005, 03:06 PM
I have the game as well...I think it is from another LOTR game...I cannot remember the game, but it is for the PC and it is similar to Battle for Middle Earth. Can you help me out, you know any LOTR PC games other than Battle for Middle Earth?

Peppyy
October 9th,2005, 03:19 PM
I know that there are 3 PC games more: FOTR, TTT, and ROTK.. not sure are there any other :-/

Stormcrow
October 10th,2005, 03:54 AM
There is another one...and it is an RPG game. Not one of the trilogy.

Peppyy
October 10th,2005, 02:58 PM
Oh, I just can't remember *hits her head over a wall* I'll maybe remember... hope so, at least....

Stormcrow

I am trying to think! lol I remember I watched the trailer! It showed a Nazgul on a Fell Beast (which you can play as) flying and terrorising a village, not sure which...maybe a Rohan village? But I do remember it, vaguely.

Hmm...To be honest, I thought it was pretty lame  Good compilation of LoTR footage.......Actually, meh I guess it was pretty good :p One thing I really liked though, was: "Smaug awakens December 19"

I loved the music too (Brings back a lot of memories from watching the RoTK trailer millions of times before RoTK came out. Remember that? lol

Stormcrow
November 29th,2005, 04:58 AM
Oh, do I ever. :p

Yes, the 'Smaug awakens December 19' was exceptionally good. I liked that.

For a fan made trailer, thats really fantastic. The only thing that gives it away is the poor image quality in just a few places, but other than that -wow. The music is awesome- anyone figure out what it's actually from yet?
Also...the dragon scenes....are they taken from Dragonheart or something?

EDIT: scanned through comments and answered most of my own questions
The music (which is evidently from one of the games, correct?) is available ______ ?

Stormcrow
November 29th,2005, 08:34 AM
The music is from the game 'The War of the Ring' an RPG. Rather ironic. :p

can we (meaning me, myself, and I) buy the pretty music? *bats eyelashes*

anywho- it fit the trailer quite well. kudos to whoever did that, they deserve a cookie.

Stormcrow
November 29th,2005, 08:45 AM
A preciouss cookie! Yeah, I am not sure about buying, but I am pretty sure you can download...try searching things along the lines of 'LOTR' or 'WOTR' or the full versions of such abbreviations. Keep looking and testing until you find. ;)

whooooaaaaa, nice damn music, I really love it, I asked for the title in the "what are you listening to right now" thread but that won't be necessary anymore, thank you very much peppyy.

also, nice trailer, I think I even saw the movie with the dragon, isn't it with Sean Connery or something (or am I completly mistaken)?

Stormcrow
December 11th,2005, 04:05 AM
I am not sure, but it is called 'Dragon Slayer'.

Elvaril
December 11th,2005, 04:11 AM
ah, no, I searched the IMDB and Sean Connery did the voice of Draco, the dragon in Dragonheart

Stormcrow
December 11th,2005, 04:16 AM
Yes, but Dragonheart isn't the movie used in the trailer. ;)
