I'm making a separate thread for this to pool everything together.
We need another moderator to assist Ithildiel Noldoran in the Language Forum this moderator should have knowledge of Sindarin and/or Quenya
The reuirements are as follows:
Applicants should have at least 6 months of Sindarin/Quenya study, either with the Sindarin/Quenya Course at Council of Elrond, or the one at elvish.org.
A description of your Sindarin/Quenya learning: where you've learned it, for how long they've been studying, that sort of thing.
Also if you would do a little test for us that would be great as it would help a lot to determine your skill at translating.
The Sindarin Test
Translate the following names into Sindarin: Elizabeth "God is My Oath", Luke "bringer of light", Albert "bright nobility".
Translate the following phrase into Sindarin: "Don't wait for your ship to come in if you haven't sent one out."
Translate the following Sindarin phrase into English: "Boe geri ross a glawar an ninniach."
The Quenya Test
1.Translate the following names into Quenya:
Richard (strong ruler)
Constance (steadfast, firm)
Margaret (daisy)
Robert (bright glory)
2.Translate the following:
a.Roses can bloom within the darkest shadows of the fairest forest.
b. Mi i pśrėa cala elenor ar Isilo, tirnėr rimbė cotumor tulilė haira nandello.
If you have any experience translating on other sites, we would love to have a link to it as Wilwarin will be assisting in the selection of her replacement and would love to see your skills in action.
If this is something you'd be interestind in, if you have the time to devote, and you'd like to become part of the team, then please provide the answers to the short quiz(s) above Sindarin, Quenya or both along with your qualifications in a Private Message to me!
