LOTR reading group?

I was wondering about starting a reading group here at WoTR? It would go something like we would read FOTR about one to two chapters a week and then discuss them on the forum..etc.

I don't know if there is already something like that here and I just couldn't find it.

I know there's something like this on a Livejournal, but not sure about it on WOTR - I think that's a good idea - I'mup for it!

Great suggestion~ indeed there is such a community on Livejournal...that I kinda am co-mod of, ;) but it'll be cool for WOtR to have one too. Council of Elrond had one and now they're up= to reading Unfinished Tales...
LotR bit by bit would be ultra awesome too. :D

Indeed - yeah, I heard about the LJ one too late to really start.

Sure it can be done... it's a bit of a hectic in my life right now, plus it will take some organisation anyway, but we could start march or april... I dont know how Gs timetable is... as hosts in library we'll have to do some of the work after all.

I'm not too keen on having just another reading group like all.... so Id like to do it a bit more... interesting. It'll take some people who enjoy analysis and have time tho. Anyone up?

ED, Ithil, it's not too late to join the LJ one! It's never too late for we're not even going in order. So you can claim a chapter or just read up on past discussions and put your own thoughts whenever you can. =) There's no one posting a chapter this week so one of you can post up a chapter if you wish. :) But no, please don't think you're too late...this is a flexible thing we have on LJ. :thumbs:

Just register for a user name on www.livejournal.com and then go to http://community.livejournal.com/readthebook/profile to the user info and then "friend" it by clicking "joining" community link. :thumbs:

Actually, a person doesn't have to a member of LJ to comment. THey can comment anonymously if they wish. It's only easier as a member so you can track the community better.
You can lurk if you wish also if you prefer that. :thumbs:

And regarding the Book forum (or discussion group) here... I think chronological reading would be easier to deal with right?
