This is a poem made by my father. Actually it's a song, and for the full effect you'd have to hear it with his guitar, but it works pretty well as poetry too:
Locked in the tower
I hold the key
The sweet talking stranger
Who cannot be free
Im your Sorrow Man
Eyes looking backward
I cannot see
All of it darkness
Inside of me
Hmm Hmmm the Sorrow Man
An old man is walking
The path all alone
A word I will whisper
In your mind I have grown
Its me the Sorrow Man
The gentle destroyer
Your pity I hold
Your forgiveness too costly
My soul I have sold
Cry for the Sorrow Man
Tears should be falling
My face dry as dust
The price I must pay
For forsaking all trust
Don’t you know me? I’m your Saruman.

Right on!!
and I have to admit, you had me going. Here I was thinking "Awwww how sad":-(
I was sure that it was about a father's hurt and despair, and then it changed from "Sorrow Man" to "Saruman".
VERY well done!! And a HUZAH for your father!!entdraught entdraught

It's best with the effect of a full orchestra:

I will be sure to show him your compliments, along with the orchestra! :)
Ilúvatar, perhaps you were not as fooled as you thought. The sadness is real, whether it is the sadness of a good-natured father living in California, or the sadness of poor, fallen Saruman, who was Curumo, greatest of the Istari, They Who Know, of the shining Maiar, "the Beautiful" angelic spirits from Beyond.

Don't be to quik to all him the greatest. Manwe did pick Olorin(Gandalf) personally and Gandalf was supposed to be the leader of the White Council. Saruman did fail in his mission through corruption and his spirit was revoked by the VAlar after his death for his evil deeds. I have no tears to shed for Saruman. I save them all for Wormtounge, the poor servant killed so unjustly.
I actually fin Sarumans fall from power amusing. Ity makes me smile to think that his last attempt at power was to rule of HOBBITS! LOL!
Great song though. Give your dad my compliments.

Don't be to quik to all him the greatest. Manwe did pick Olorin(Gandalf) personally and Gandalf was supposed to be the leader of the White Council.
Yet Gandalf specifically says, of Saruman, that "he is the greatest of my Order". And certainly Saruman the White seems far more powerful than Gandalf the Grey. When Gandalf suggested in Orthanc to Saruman that dealing with him may not prove to be one of the lighter matters, Saruman merely laughed in his face "for my words were empty, and he knew it". As for the White Council, he was only supposed to be the leader by the design of Galadriel. In the Ainulindale Olórin is said to be "the wisest of the Maiar", but it seems clear to me that Curumo was the greatest of the Istari, at least of those that came to Middle-earth.
I actually fin Sarumans fall from power amusing.
Such thoughts are strange to me. It sounds so cold and, well, please forgive the term: sadistic. Don't you understand why Frodo pitied the man?

it does sound sadistic. I will quote dragonlance now "The day we stop pitiying our enemies is the day we will have lost"
