If you could be an historical figure, who would you be? If not a particular person, then what era would you live in and what would be your role? Why?
I think, even though I am female (and please don't hurt me:trout: ), I would be Naploleon Bonaparte, just so I could take over a lot of the free world. And, also, he has a certain je ne sais pas, besides the fact that he killed people and stuff. . . .
Besides that, I would probably be either John Adams or Jane Austen, because both seem to suit me.

Well, I could think of a few good reasons I would defnately not want to be any of those mentioned.......
And when I think about it, I can't recall a single person in history who led a good and healthy life.... I'll stick with my own. ;)

I don't know, in some instances, "h" is a vowel. I'm supposed to speak like a redneck, but I speak like some arrogant orator. It's kind of stupid, I guess. I've been reading too many Victorian novels. Also, the key is "historical"!

I suppose I'm alittle late, but, yes! I know who that is! I know he was quite handsome and rich and that he is credited for establishing the first national American bank. But, he went against Washington, wanting to command the Continental Army, which is like blasphemy! And he and John Adams didn't get along very well, so:p ! But what about Ben Franklin? He was quite the ladies' man!:naughty:

he did NOT go against awashington he was the first secratary of the us treasury he was G washingtons favorite aid he did establish the bank of america america wouldnt even be a country without him we would have been in siuch debt to other countries no trading colonies couldnt get along alex fixed all that he also faught in the rev war he earned distinction he wasnt born rich he was a self made man and i dont like john adams he was an idiot he thought he knew everything he didnt alex did and he never wanted to command no army he just had a fight with washington it was his fault and washington wanted him back as an aid but he didnt go he faught instead and he rocks my world and hes on the ten dollar bill its thanks to him we even have a ten dollar bill *takes a deep breath*
yes franklin was cool too. but alex didnt know him very well.

 I'm sorry! This year, I have just begun my AP US History and there's so much stuff that I'm getting mixed up. . . .mecry That was John Hancock, because he was more outspoken. :trout: TROUT ME!!!!! Anyway, have you read John Adams, by David McCulough? He's in there, though I haven't read the whole thing yet!

Then she realizes she didn't read his/her entire commentary! I'm sure that Alexander Hamilton was a very respectable figure; it is not for me to judge; I'm not very well acquainted with him. But I would have to disagree! I like John Adams very much! He was sent out to do a lot of early America's dirty work. I thought him very respectable, and he was also of humble origins. Sorry, again! I probably would have scoffed you if you had said something about the name I dare not mention again.
Anyway, to another subject, if there was anyone in history whom you would NOT want to be, who would that person be? (I know, I have no life :))

I can think of enough against reasons myself, but maybe Alexander Macedonian (he's been in my head throughout this thread, I'm just weird  )

OK yes the commentary was very disorganized. My apologies. i was rushed I'm afraid. OK. Alex was of faaaaaaaaaaar humbler origion than Adams. And Admas was a hothead who really actually didn't make a great president. I know this sounds biased, but he and Alex, though of the same party, were not friends.
Mirky-- who precisely was Alexander Macedonian? I'm sorry but I have never heard of him.

For my part, I would be Diane De Poitiers...She was a wonderful, beautiful, strong and very smart woman that helped (in her own manner) Henri II to reign on France at that time.. Plus she kept looking young at the age of 60 and was truly loved by the King (she also kept an eye on the kingdom affairs, she chose Henri II's wife who was her cousin Catherine De Médicis)
Or I would be .... Margot Fonteyn, classical ballet is my passion, I took ballet from age 3 to 18....
But I would have liked to live in Jane Austen's novels...so romantic..in the beginning of 1800s
:elfqueen: :) :)
