Many people have asked me for a reference on the best way to learn the Tengwar. In addition to Appendix E (which should be read and treasured in this pursuit) in LotR, there are a couple of excellent Web sites that are informative and interesting.
Amanye Tenceli (http://at.mansbjorkman.net/)
-- Let this site be your first stop! Includes info on various Tengwar modes, Tengwar calligraphy, and fonts.
Another good Tengwar site (http://www.gis.net/%7Edansmith/fonts/font_tengwar/index.html)
-- Also very informative.
These two sites, combined with the info in Appendix E, should be all you need to learn the Tengwar.
Namárië!

Well, I was doing my little searches, after seeing beautiful calligraphy for tengwar.
and I found this lovely little thing called- TengScribe.
apparently a man named Dan Smith,( i think he's the guy who made this) made a processor you download. You get this, and you type in the word or words you want, select from a list either, Black Speech(ex. the ring inscription), Quenya, Sindarin, or English. then you transcribe, and its supposed to switch it into the font you chose. amazing isn't it!
so i got it, and i loaded into all my programs...however, once I got it...i can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, because, it won't transcribe. i'm still doing research on how to work this thing, there are many sites that talk about tengscribe.
but it anyone wants the site to download this amazing little processor its
http://www.gis.net/%7Edansmith/fonts/font_tengwar/index.html
and if anyone can figure it, let me know. otherwise enjoy!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Firith! :)
I don't use TengScribe, as I write all of my Tengwar by hand.....but I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Also, there is a thread devoted to the Tengwar in this forum ("For those who want to learn to write with the Tengwar," I believe it's called), so you might want to check out some of the links in that topic; you might find some info about the program.

Follow this (http://www.sci.fi/~alboin/tengwartutorial.htm) link for instructions on how to use that program. I haven't used it, but it looks helpful.

About Amanye Tenceli, I haven't figured it out yet. I was thinking, that when you typed it in, and clicked on the language u wanted it would translate it into elven words, in english.

Tenwar translators are at best unreliable -- the Tengwar is a bit complicated at first (you have to teach your mind to stop thinking in "alphabets" and start thinking in "sounds," as the Tengwar is phonetic), but it's not too difficult. The best thing to do is learn how to write with it, and do it yourself!
