Time we had a thread for this.
Recently Narnia Web (http://narniaweb.com) has had some good stuff up, with spy picks of some Telmarine horsemen and a main castle set.
Looks good to me. Now if only they can ditch the "plastic" (can't think of a better way to put it) feel that plagued the first film and make the world seem a little more organic.
I always thoughtCaspian would make a better film than Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. More action, more straightforward plot, generally more filmable and likely to draw in an older crowd as well.

I don't know much about the whole Narnia story plot thingy, so what'll this movie be about (presuming they won't change much from the book)?
I heard they're going to film part of it in my country! I'm really hyper about that, big budget films just don't get filmed here. I might even go there and see if I can see the set. :)

They will be shooting in Slovenia, although I can't seem to found out exactly where.
If you do go see the set take a small camera and don't get caught (I am of course fully encouraging you to take loads of pictures though! :p). I'd love to have some spy reports.

lol I'll definetly do that! I'll try to get a map and show you where exactly they'll be filming, maybe I can even find some pics of it. :)
EDIT: http://www.bovec.net/ Here's a good link, you'll also find a map of Slovenia with Bovec clearly marked. ;)

Oooh, up in the mountains. Worth the trip even if the movie wasn't there. ;)

That part of the country is definetly worth visiting and this is just an extra reason to go on a picnic. ;) I can't wait till they start filming, it's so exiting!

The Pevensie children are called back to Narnia....remember Susan's horn that she used to call Peter to help her against the wolves in LWW? Well that got left behind (along with all the other presents Father Christmas gave) and has become a national treasure of Narnia. The children are called back by the horn to help the young Prince Caspian and all the talking beasts (who have been pushed into hiding) remove the evil king Miraz and place Caspian, the rightful king, on the throne.

I saw them filming at Dart River in Glenorchy (NZ) unfortunately we couldn't get close enough. The guide had tried to buff his way in once before and failed so he wouldn't chance it again. Gorgeous place though. Same place they used for Fangorn forest, Isengard, Lothlorien and Amon hen. If you ignore the nasty little biting bugs it's gorgeous!

The bugs are nasty everywhere I guess. lol
Thanks for the info ED, it sounds interesting, maybe even better than LWW. I'm definetly going to see it when it comes out. :)

Prince Caspian should go way past LWW, but LWW will always be my favorite.

Yeah, me too. It's got more of Aslan in, apart from anything! lol! Aslan gets phased out throughout the stories. Except the Last Battle, of course.
Still, I have to say that I still love the BBC versions.

WOW that looks gorgeous... I'm going to want to go back to NZ again aren't I? :( That place is far too pretty for it's own good.
Also want to add, Prince Caspian... Not bad looking :naughty: Oh hey he's the guy from Stardust that plays young Dunstan!
Oh hey Predrag Bjelac (Igor Karkaroff from HP) is in it! He plays Lord Donnon... don't know who that is. Anyone read the book and know the answer?

The trailer was AWESOME!! Wow!! Now I am really excited!! :hyper:
I loved the first movie, and the second one looks sweet! SO glad they kept Liam Neeson as Aslan.

LOL! Yes, I love their choice for Prince Caspian ;)....though, inthe books, he's supposed to be younger.....but so were the Pevensies. :p And Caspian is supposed to be Peter's age, so.....
It's fine with me that he's older, though.
LOL, I loved this: Ben Barnes Talks Prince Caspian (http://www.narniaweb.com/news.asp?id=1362&dl=14552970)
Lord Dannon? I don't see him anywhere in the book! I looked over every page, too! :p If he is mentioned, then it must be brief and I missed it.....
My guess is that he's one of Miraz's men.

I saw a tv spot for PC the other day.
Also, NarniaWeb has tons of new updates, including videos of the various tv spots and Disney Channel specials, and lots of screenshots and photos. I'm sure that they'll post new updates almost every day now.

I think he is. In Miraz's camp (when Edmund comes with the challenge to the duel) there are two lords who tempt Miraz into fighting the duel in order to overthrow him and rule Narnia for themselves. It's not made much of, and they are only brief mentions. I think Lord Dannon is one of them.

That's where I looked, and I don't remember seeing his name...
I see Lord Glozelle and Lord Sopespian.
Ok, I just looked on NarniaFans.com, and there are three characters created for the movie, Dannon (they have it as 'Donnon', though) being one of them. ;) All it says is that he's a member of Miraz's kingdom.

I guess we'll have to wait and see! Maybe he'll be a Figwit-type character....;)

I haven't seen the trailer yet... *makes mental note*
I'm hoping I'll like it better than the first one. Narnia was my "LotR", before I read LotR. ;) As such, I'm most definitely a book fan, but the movie seemed to be—missing something. I'm not entirely sure what.

Whereas I feel totally the opposite. The books left a lot to be desired for me, but the BBC show and the film impressed me more than the book did.

Check this out: Switchfoot is doing the song for Prince Caspian! It's called "This Is Home". They just shot a video for it, and you can hear about half of the song in a sound check that they did for it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8-lTNuKIHs).
Also, NarniaWeb has a countdown ot the exact time until the release of not only Prince Caspian, but The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as well! :p Only 750 days to go for that one! lol

Ooh man, I SO cannot wait until 2010 for "The Dawn Treader"! Man...
But, I SO loved "Prince Caspian". All the animals were so great (REEPICHEEP!) and so was Trumpkin. And I love Caspian. The costumes were so amazing, especially Lucy's and Susan's Narnia gowns. And YEY! for WETA!! veryhappy I love the new music themes as well. It's just a terrific film.

Annawen, ED thanks for investigating the Lord Donnon thing for me :)
I saw the trailer in the cinema on Thursday and was bouncing with glee. It looks amazing and unfortunately reawakened my desire to return to NZ again. Must squash that one. Why does it have to be so far away? mecry
I shall definitely see this one in the posh new cinema with the HUGE screen. Apparently it's lush in there. I'm going on my birthday on Weds to have a look round and see if it's worth the extra money (not hard to beat the old cinema though). Prince Caspian will definitely be worth it though just to see al the glory of the effects in crisp focus.

Ooh! I just saw PC a few days ago, and we all really enjoyed it! All the little mice were so funny and cute, especially Repicheep.
This one was way darker than the first one, though it's understandable. the only thing I missed in this one was Aslan. I wanted more Aslan. ;) :loveyou:
It was such a great movie! If anyone hasn't seen it yet, and it's in theaters near them, GO see it!

I'm guilty of the same thing, Eowyn, and I'd be careful of myself if I were near him... I feel like Lucy, wishing to cuddle him! :D He really is an adorable riot.

Yes exactly. You want to pick him up and hug him and squee at the cute little sword and stoke his fur... then you remember tht unlike normal mice that might try to nibble your fingers Reepichep is likely to chop them off! :o :p

Well, in the tradition of responding to 20 old threads in the same day, what did everyone think of it?
I thought it was even better than the first! I found Prince Caspian's actor to have delivered a powerful performance. And the fight to the death scene was very well done, too. The battle scene at the end with Aslan and the water was absolutely breathtaking.

I've only seen the first and was just about to be bored of it. I'll take a peek when I have the time and nothing more appealing to watch

lol Well it's no Virginia Woolf, but it's certainly worth a watch. And the second is more interesting than the first, imo.

I have to say, I actually preferred the first one. Not sure why. I think it was just the fact it strayed so far from the book. I mean, the first one did too, but not as hugely as the second one!

I've never read them, so my oppinion is based on the movies oly
Eowyn
June 21st,2010, 09:43 PM
Ditto. I have never read the books so I can't compare but I liked them both. The difference is the first one works well as a film on it's own but you really need to see the first one before you see the second to get most of the character development.
