Everytime I hear this fragment of this beautiful short song, I always think about Galadriel's fate before the War of the Ring. She couldn't sail into the West because of her defiance of the Valars' orders long ago. I wanted to capture here her longing for home...

*The quote comes from John Morris*

This is so sad Sad The words fit your idea perfectly. It's so amazing! I know this comment is a bit shorter than my usual, well, novel but it's just because I'm afraid of repeating myself. This deserves so much more than that!

Thank you, very much. It fits my recent mood as well. No, I'm not sad all the time, only in some moments, so don't worry, my friends... Isa: I forgot, there is a few pictures of happy elves hidden in the border... I wanted them to be like the reminiscence of the time that passed...

Before I clicked to veiw full screen so I could see the words (yeah, I NEVER wear my glasses....:p) the first words that crossed my mind were "And if of ships I now should sing, what ship would come to me, what ship would bear me ever back across so wide a sea?" (Yes, I do know the words to all the poems and songs off by heart....I'm ED, a LOTR nerd....) But this WP captured the essence of those particular lines perfectly!

Then I read the actual quote you put with it and it was just...*sigh* beautiful!

Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. (John 12:24) At last with an effort he spoke, and wondered to hear his own words, as if some other will was using his small voice. 'I will take the Ring,' he said, 'though I do not know the way.'

Thank you, ED, Eruanna and Nimth. Smile ED: Yes, when I was making this, I had that poem on my mind too, because one quote leads to another... And I must tell you, that every time I read Galadriel's song of golden leaves I start crying and I really can't help it. Thank you, hon Smile

it's beautiful..and sad,yes..sometimes I think the sadness just belongs to our life..for thanks to the sadness we can see things more clear than through the joy..and this especiälly...I think to look back on the times they were so happy is always better than to look back on a ruined past..sorry for my preaching, but tis very emotional and it reminds me of some things..well,it's beautiful,Ellie and I only hope your "sad mood"will disappear soon leaving only good things behind Smile!
