This may seem like a silly page to have, but not all of these sites have been discontinued - some of them are simply not being updated any longer.  For the others, I hope they may reappear and that someone will tell me if that happens.  And even for ones that don't exist, some are still places where I obtained images originally, so I still like to give them credit for their efforts. Elostirion Note:  This site no longer has anything to do with LOTR - very odd.  There are three other French LOTR site links:  'Angrenost' 'Elbakin' and 'Le Seigneur des Anneaux' still listed on my 'Non-English Sites' page.

Englander's   This one just moved again - apparently they were getting so many hits (after that nice plug on 'theonering.net' that they had to go to a faster server!  Anyway, I've now updated both the main address above, as well as the one for the image archives below.  The webmaster is very good with correspondence, plus he's got some calendar images that I've never seen anywhere else.  Check out them and his other images here. NOTE:  Since Septempber (2001), Englander has been taking a bit of a break, so there haven't been any updates for a while.  I'll try to put a note here when he starts posting again, but meanwhile, you can still enjoy the site as it is.

IGN/FilmForce   The IGN/FilmForce website has pages on all the major movies due out this year (and next).  As well as a general page on 'Lord of the Rings', with a few rumors (most already reported elsewhere), there is also a good article on the book(s), in a 'chapter by chapter' format.  It combines several images for each chapter together with an associated text outline.  Currently, only the first movie ('Fellowship of the Ring') is available, but the other two are planned.  Click here to go to that section.

Imladris Note:  They had a lot of good images and good discussion and posting boards.  This site was previously at the URL www.lordoftheringsmovie.com, but that link now seems to be just a mirror of the official site. The forums have now moved over to '(The) Council of Elrond' website, which is here

Jim Calagon   This is a 'humor' site.  It isn't particularly to my taste, but you might find it amusing.  NOTE - it also seems to have gone missing, so I've moved it over here;  if you see it around, write me and I'll put it back.

McGuff'nstuff Maps Note:  This site is gone from its old URL.  Since I like to link to every site where I've found the images I used in my pages, I'd like to know it's new location if it exists - please email me if you know where it has gone (it may be that copyright issues have forced it out of business, or underground).

(The) Rings of Power   The neatest thing about this site was the 'Flash' introduction.  Don't forget to turn on your speakers to hear 'Ash nazg...' (but if you're on a slow line, it can take a while to load). NOTE:  The 'Flash' intro seems to have disappeared - if it comes back, I'll return this site to the 'Fan Sites' page...

Tol Galen (Company of the Ring) (completely disappeared)

(The) Tolkien Guild (domain name now up for sale)     Aside from being a source of the main 'Lord of the Rings' movies links, this site also had news and a 'Fellowship' area (these are the people who organized the 'lines' for seeing the movie trailer).
