Much that once was, is lost
For none now live who remember it.

 
The gold is melted...
  		It began with the forging
of the great rings.
  		...and poured into the mold
 
Three were given to the Elves:
Immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings.

 
Three were given to the Elves...
  		    The Bearers of the Elven Rings:
     Gil-galad, the King;  Cirdan, of the Grey Havens;
    and Galadriel, the Lady of the Golden Wood.
 
Nenya, the Ring of Galadriel...
  		Nenya, the Ring of Galadriel,
 wrought of mithril
with a white stone

Gil-galad's ring, Vilya - gold with a blue stone  
passed to his herald, Elrond.  
And Cirdan gifted his ring, Narya - with  
a stone red as fire - to Gandalf.  

  		Immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings

 
Seven to the Dwarf Lords...
  
Seven to the Dwarf lords:
 Great miners and craftsmen
of the mountain halls. 		...Great miners and craftsmen...
Seven rings for the dwarves

In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom,

the Dark Lord Sauron forged, in secret, a master Ring.
