The Fellowship of the Ring Movie Script - Book Two, Chapter V The Bridge of Khazad-Dûm All Scenes (1, 2 and 3)

Scene 1:  Balin's Tomb   (Click HERE for the associated images)
Gimli:	Humph   (as he sees Balin's Tomb and runs towards it)
Gandalf:	Gimli!
Gimli:	No... no...  No... no... no...
Gandalf:	Here lies Balin, Son of Fundin, Lord of Moria. He is dead then.  It is as I feared...
Gimli:	Ohhh!  (Gimli mourns in Dwarvish) (Gandalf picks up a book from a dwarf skeleton)
Legolas:	(to Aragorn)  We must move on.  We cannot linger!
Gandalf:	(reading from the book) They have taken the bridge and the second hall. We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes.  Drums, drums in the deep. We cannot get out.  A shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out... They are coming... (Pippin accidentally topples a skeleton into the well. It makes a huge, echoing noise that goes on and on) Fool of a Took! Throw yourself in next time and rid us of your stupidity! (We hear drums and see views of the places where the Fellowship had been earlier, including firelight in the stairwell down from the three doorways where they had rested)
Sam:	Frodo!   (as he sees Sting glowing blue)
Legolas:	Orcs!

Scene 2:  Battle with a Cave Troll   (Click HERE for the associated images)
	(Boromir goes to the door and peers out.  Several arrows are shot at him and land in the door as he jumps back)
Aragorn:	Get back!  Stay close to Gandalf.
Boromir:	They have a Cave Troll!
Gimli:	Let them come! There is one dwarf yet in Moria who still draws breath. (They battle the Orcs (and/or Goblins?) who come through the door.  Then the Cave Troll bursts in, taking out part of the wall.  They all battle him as well, until finally he corners Frodo, after having knocked Aragorn into a wall.  Frodo is trying to wake Aragorn up...)
Frodo:	Aragorn!  Aragorn! (After dodging a few blows, Frodo is finally caught by the Cave Troll's spear and crushed by it into a corner, where he collapses.  Merry and Pippin jump on the Cave Troll and are distracting him while Legolas lines up for his final shot, hitting him in the throat and killing him.  They all go over to look at Frodo, expecting the worst)
Sam:	Frodo?  Frodo!
Aragorn:	Oh, no (as he turns him over.  Frodo groans...)
Sam:	He's alive!
Frodo:	I'm alright.  I'm not hurt.
Aragorn:	You should be dead. The spear would have skewered a wild Boar.
Gandalf:	I think there's more to this Hobbit than meets the eye.
Gimli:	Mithril!  You are full of surprises, Master Baggins! (They hear more Orcs coming)
Gandalf:	To the Bridge of Khazad-dûm!

Scene 3:  The Balrog and the Bridge   (Click HERE for the associated images)
Boromir:	What is this new devilry?
Gandalf:	A Balrog.  A demon of the ancient world. This foe is beyond any of you.  Run! (Boromir almost falls when the stairs end unexpectedly; Legolas pulls him back from the brink)
Gandalf:	Lead them on Aragorn.  The bridge is near. Do as I say!  Swords are no more use here... (They come to the break in the stairs.  Legolas jumps across first, then steadies Gandalf when he lands)
Boromir:	Merry, Pippin...   (He jumps across with them)
Aragorn:	Sam...   (he throws him across to Boromir) (He goes to do the same to Gimli, but Gimli stops him)
Gimli:	Nobody tosses a dwarf! (Gimli jumps, but doesn't quite make it all the way. Legolas grabs his beard and pulls him the rest of the way)
Gimli:	Not the beard!
Aragorn:	Hold on   (as he and Frodo scramble back up the stairs when the bottom section crumbles and falls away) Hang on... Lean forward... (The part they were on finally meets the other stairs)
Legolas:	Come on   (as they step across and join the others)
Gandalf:	Over the bridge!  Go on... (The Fellowship cross, then Gandalf turns to the Balrog) You cannot pass!
Frodo:	Gandalf!
Gandalf:	I am a servant of the Secret Fire, Wielder of the flame of Anor. Dark fire will not avail you, Flame of Udûn. Go back to the shadow! You shall not pass!! (At this, Gandalf breaks the Bridge with his staff and the Balrog plunges down to the depths.  Gandalf turns to leave, but the Balrog's whip comes up one last time and catches him around the legs and he slips to the edge, where he tries to pull himself back up)
Frodo:	Gandalf! (Boromir has to hold him, to keep him from running back)
Gandalf:	Fly, you fools! (He can't hold on any longer and he falls into the abyss)
Frodo:	Noooooooo!
Boromir:	Aragorn!   (who wants to go back to help) (Aragorn is the last one to leave, with arrows from the Orcs whistling all around him)
