Goldilocks Goes to Middle-earth for a Day Hey there, Fatty! Just got back from the Exhibit, and it was incredible! One of the first things they told us, however, was no photography allowed, so, no pictures, unfortunately. I shall therefore describe to you much of the detail, for those who are not as fortunate to attend. When we arrived at
the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum), we were handed a booklet of TTT, telling
about the story progression, making off, cast, characters, etc. I’d
type it all out for you, but there’s a lot! Haven’t even read
it yet, to be honest. When
entering the exhibit, I soon realized how far they would go to try to
place you in the film. Lighting, sounds effects, and set created a real
We journeyed through Edoras, Helm’s Deep, Saruman’s Chamber in Orthanc, the Glittering Caves, Isengard Caverns, the Dead Marshes, Henneth Annun, Osgiliath Ruins, Fangorn Forest, and Rivendell. All the rooms were exquisitely decorated, with every last detail thought of. In examining all the pieces really closely, and with a skeptical eye, I can confidently say that they played close attention to every conceivable detail. Jewelry was on display, which included Aragorn’s ring, an Elven brooch, Arwen’s crown, Elrond’s crown, a necklace Eowyn wears, and, of course, the One Ring. Several costumes form
the film were also displayed. Namely, Legolas, Gandalf the White, Aragorn,
a gorgeous dress of Arwen’s (purple velvet), a white gown of Eowyn’s,
Theoden’s robes, Saruman, Wormtongue, as well as a Ringwraith, and
several different suits of armor. What was so incredible about the pieces,
was they were so close, you could actually reach out and Weapons were in enormous quantity as well. Let’s see... I saw Sting, Gandalf’s sword, Aragorn’s weapons, Legolas quiver (but not bow), and his two Elven knives, Orc crossbows, and Uruk-hai blades. One of the neatest Orc artifacts I saw was a pair of “teeth plyers”. That is what they were labeled as. I don’t know if they’ll play any special significance to the film, but there you go. Other artifacts included Frodo’s mithril armor, Galadriel’s Pitcher, the shards of Narsil, Boromir’s horn, lembas with a Maloryn leaf, Sam’s box, the Elven rope, letters, books, and blown glass. Overall, it was an incredible exhibit, and one that I’m really glad I saw! I feel confident that there will be another one next year, as well. Glad I could share all this with you, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions. There was just so much that I can’t describe it all. Goldilocks You can get more information
