Vacancies

Well the site has been expanding rather quickly and as such we require more staff. A list of positions follows. Please note that there is no payment other than the satisfaction of doing a good job and being part of a great team.

Additionally please do not apply if you do not have the time. Some of these position do require a good hour each day at least. We have taken many people on in the past only to have them drop out. So if you don't have time please do not apply.

Non - Technical Positions

Map Editor

We are looking for someone to maintain and add to our forthcoming map section. It would involve searching for new maps to put in the relevant section and also aiding us in making new maps for various parts of the site, such as the Armoury.

You should have an interest in maps and cartography in general. Some experience in making maps would also be handy. Knowledge of heightfields and 3d rendering programs would be very handy indeed.

Art Editor

We require someone to update and maintain our already substantial Gallery. The task would involve handling submissions from artists and also searching for new images for existing ones. We do not differentiate between 'fan art' and professional, it is all one on the site.

You will need some knowledge of html (not much), more important is a love of Tolkien inspired art and motivation. You will also have to use FTP and a simple gallery generating program. A cable or broadband conneciton to the internet would be handy as well.

FanFic Editor

Our new FanFic section needs someone to watch over the various submissions and to suggest ideas. You should be a FanFic author yourself and have a keen interest in the area.

The ability to use a simple online interface is a must. Some HTML adn Dreamweaver experience would also be useful but not essential.

Armoury Assistant:

We need someone to work alongside Orc in The Armoury. You should be very familiar with all of Tolkien's works and be fanatical about weapons, armour and all things concerning warfare.

Books Section:

We are currently working on a huge update to the rather small books section. We need people who are very familiar with all of Tolkien's books to help put it together. Some of the work is done. But we still need a lot of help.

Technical Positions

IRC Manager:

We require someone with lots of Linux experience to install and manage our IRC channels. Please e-mail me here for me details.

Web/HTML coders:

We require some help with building pages. Mostly this would just be adding content to templates. With the rapid expansion it has become next to impossible for one person to update and build every page on the site. As such we need someone already familiar with the basics of HTML and DreamWeaver. Fireworks and Photo Shop would be an advantage.
